Classes |
A Class is the profession or vocation of your character. It determines
what he or she is able to do: combat training, magical ability, skills,
and more. In selecting what class is right for your character, keep in
mind what base strengths you want him or her to have. The eleven basic
selections can approximate most any character concept.
Class Packages
With each class, comes several "Packages". These packages
customise your character similarly to the Kits in Baldur's Gate 2. They
don't have any abilities outside those of the standard class however, but
the extremely flexible and powerful 3red Edition ruleset utilised by
Neverwinter Nights may be too complex for some people's taste. Therefore
Bioware have included these packages so that the task of levelling up and
assigning stats is done for you, in the optimal place for your character
type.
These packages DO NOT GIVE ANY SPECIAL ABILITIES to you
character, they simply configure your skills and feats so you don't have
to.

Base
Save Bonus: The two numbers given in this column apply to
saving throws. Whether a character uses the first or second number
depends on their class and what type of saving throw is being
attempted. See each individual class description to find which
bonuses apply to which category of saves.
Base Attack Bonus: On an
attack roll, apply the bonus from the appropriate column according
to class. Numbers after a slash indicate additional attacks at
reduced bonuses. For example, "+12/+7/+2" means the
character gets three attacks per round, with a base attack bonus of
+12, +7, and +2 for the first, second, and third attack
respectively. For Multi-classed characters, the base attack bonuses
for each class are cumulative.
